Swedish "Relaxation" Massage

Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage.

One of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation.

Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Pair your Swedish Massage with some Aromatherapy for increased relaxation!

Deep Tissue / Neuromuscular

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). Deep Tissue should be performed to your comfort level. Additionally, a 2010 meta-analysis in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found that massage modalities like deep tissue reduce stress hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin.

Please talk with your professional massage therapist to see if a deep tissue massage therapy would be beneficial for you.

Medi-cupping Therapy

Current vacuum therapies are a modern use of an ancient tool and possess the benefits of traditional use, along with many incredible new applications. This therapy utilizes glass or plastic cups and a vacuum pistol, bulb or machine to create suction on the body surface. These cups are moved over the skin using gliding, shaking, popping and rotating techniques while gently pulling up on the cup, and are parked for a short time to facilitate joint mobilization or soft tissue release. This suction can reach deep into the soft tissue or can work superficially to pull inflammation and toxins toward the surface so that the skin and lymphatic system can readily eliminate them. Scar tissues often release quickly, despite the age of the injury or keloid tendencies.

Intra-Oral Massage

Do you suffer from Tension Headaches or Jaw pain?

Intra-oral release is a technique where pressure is gently applied to the muscles of the jaw and head through the inside of the mouth. It is an effective treatment to help promote pain relief across the jaw and head, addressing muscle imbalances which contribute to and result from the onset of temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction. This treatment can also be effective at helping resolve long standing chronic neck and shoulder pain, tension headaches.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage is a nurturing massage that focuses on the special needs of mothers-to-be during pregnancy. Positioning, pillows and cushions are used to enhance support, decrease pressure and increase relaxation for both body and mind. Mother and baby share in the benefits as stress and tension melt away, leaving you feeling balanced and energized. Relief of stress on feet, ankles, low back and neck, as well as reducing swelling, are all benefits of a Prenatal Massage. It is advised that you consult with your doctor to see if prenatal massage is right for you.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy massage is massage therapy with essential oils (highly concentrated plant oils) added to the massage oil or lotion.

Inhaling essential oils through the nose is thought to promote beneficial changes in the mind and body by affecting the limbic system (a region of the brain known to influence the nervous system). Essential oils are also believed to be absorbed through the skin. and result from the onset of temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction. This treatment can also be effective at helping resolve long standing chronic neck and shoulder pain, tension headaches.

Motor Vehicle (MVA)

Following a car accident, massage therapy can aid recovery. Massage can help reverse the shock and trauma a car wreck can cause your nervous system as a whole. Massage promotes circulation of blood and lymph, which not only reduces swelling, but assists in "flushing" the injured area with fresh blood rich in nutrients that aid in faster tissue, soft tissue and muscle recovery. You must also provide a referral/RX from a physician or chiropractor.

Hot Stone Massage

Basalt river rocks are typically used because they have become smooth over time from the river's current and retain heat.

The stones heated until they are typically between 110 and 130 degrees. The therapist will either place stones specific points or use them to massage the back.

The use of hot stones for healing dates back to when Native Americans warmed stones by fire and applied them to skin to ease muscle aches and pains

and relaxation.
